About Andiy

I live on the tall-grass prairie of Douglas County, Kansas. I am a mother and a steadfast friend to children and animals.

My work is shaped by ancestral roots in Lithuania, Eastern Europe, the Northern Balkans, and by a lifelong communion with the natural world. I approach making as my connection to my lineage, using my hands as a vessel of communication.

Before returning to the studio full time, I spent years working as a carpenter. Physical labor taught me the discipline of building and form. A recent diagnosis of multiple, life-altering forms of arthritis redirected my path. Not away from making, but inward, a calling for me to come back to myself. Choosing studio practice became an act of preservation and prayer, tending the body as sacred ground.

From 2015 to 2018, I created a body of work under the name Spell of the Meadow, using traditional silversmithing techniques. Today, I work primarily with lost-wax casting. My practice is self-taught and intuitively led, moving fluidly between metal, paint, and my writings.

My metalwork honors the organic form. Surfaces are textured and alive. My paintings are abstract mixed-media works and I am currently completing my first book of memoirs; anticipated for publication in 2027.

Private studio viewings are available by appointment. My studio is located in downtown Lawrence, Kansas. Inquiries may be made via email.
